Frequently asked questions

When do I use CGST + SGST instead of IGST?

When the seller and buyer are in the same state, GST is split equally into CGST and SGST. For a sale to another state, it is charged as IGST.

How do I remove GST from a price?

Divide the price by (1 + rate/100). For ₹1,180 at 18%: 1,180 ÷ 1.18 = ₹1,000 before GST, so ₹180 is GST.
